Easter in Poland
Hello :) How are you during Easter time ? :) I hope everybody are healthy, not like me - coughing and sneezing all the time. Today I am gonna write you about Polish Easter - so this post is mainly dedicated to our visitors from abroad. Easter in Poland basically starts a week before 'Easter Sunday' and it's called 'Palm Sunday' probably like in your country because it's implicated with catolic belief. In Poland our climat doesn't allows for growing a palm trees so our palms are quite different to it's orgin but we do our best! photo below. Those are based mainly on pieces of grass and some wheat some times also flowers and herbs. On Thursday and Friday, those who are Catholics go to church, where Friday is especially important and is strictly postallows during all the day. On Saturday most of us go to the church with baskets to consecrate food ( eggs, bread, sold and pepper, some cookies and sausage. It's coomon to see a lot of children during this consecrations. On Sunday early morning there is a special mass called 'rezurekcja' it's at 6 o clock. After this, most of people celebrate rest of the day with family eating delicious food and enojying each other companies. Because Easter in Poland are in spring part of the year ( well this year we have temperature under zero and snow but it's not normal) through our food there is a lot of green vegetables. Also in Poland there is a tradition to paint eggs (photo below). Finally on Monday we have a special tradition of pouring water. It about making our friends, brothesr or sisters, cousins, neighbours, parents and some times even completly stranger people wet. It is said that a girl who was poured on water by boys is the most atracitive one. Is it our Easter looks like this in your country? :) Kisses form snowy Poland AGA
